Jason Lascu

Bio

Jason Lascu was born on January 29th, 1978 in Cleveland, OH. He spent his impressionable years of childhood and young adult life growing up in the inner-city.  His work is inspired by various encounters of adversity while growing up in the harsh city environment. Lascu is a  sculptor working in bronze, clay, plaster, wax, and found materials. The ideas of human frustration, contemplation, labor, and loneliness are all reoccurring themes throughout his work.

Jason Lascu received a B.A. from the College of Wooster in 2001, with a focus in Ceramics and Sculpture. In 2005, he obtained a M.F.A. from Washington State University with a concentration in Sculpture. He is currently attending Nashville State Community College where he is pursuing a degree in Graphic Design.

His work has been exhibited in various galleries throughout the United States, including Idaho, Kentucky, Ohio, New York, Tennessee, and Washington.  He currently lives and works in Nashville, TN.
