The Tennessean Previews “The New Real 2: Figure-Focused”

Michelle Jones for the Tennessean previews Tinney Contemporary's upcoming photorealism exhibition, "The New Real 2: Figure-Focused." Curated by Tinney gallery director Sarah Wilson, "The New Real 2" showcases new paintings by nationally and internationally known artists whose works feature lone female figures as protagonists. Featured artists include Eric Zener, Yigal Ozeri, Brian Tull, Ali Cavanaugh, and Kevin Peterson. The exhibition opens August 2nd and runs through September 13th. Tinney Contemporary Artists’ Pieces sell in Hunter Museum Spectrum Gala

All five pieces by Tinney Contemporary artists in the Hunter Museum of Art Spectrum Gala and Art Auction on Saturday night successfully sold. The auction featured three pieces by John Folsom, one by Peri Schwartz and one by Patricia Bellan-Gillen. The pieces were selected for the Chattanooga museum's live and silent auctions by a committee that visited different galleries throughout the U.S. Spectrum raises money to support the Hunter's programs that benefit the Chattanooga area.

Tinney Contemporary Artist Jaq Belcher in Papercuts Exhibition

Jaq Belcher--and a host of other artists from around the globe--will feature in “Papercuts: The Poetic Interplay of Light and Shadow.” This isn't your average snowflake paper-chain: Viewers can enjoy the "contemporary art of paper cutting."
