James Croak Opening in Miami

                 

Tinney Contemporary artist James Croak will have an opening reception at the Oxenberg Fine Art Gallery in Miami, FL. The reception will take place on March 28, 2013 from 7-10 PM.

Oxenberg Fine Art Gallery writes: "James Croak (American, b. 1951) has produced an astonishing body of work during the past twenty years. Using a variety of innovative materials and techniques, incluing taxidermy, latex rubber, tar, and his trademark cast dirt, he has merged traditional craftsmanship witha twenty-first century sensibility, creating sculpture of pressence and feeling."

Cheekwood’s Artist in Residence: Dorothy O’Connor

               

Atlanta-Based artist, Dorothy O'connor, will be continuing her installation and photography series, Scenes, at Cheekwood this spring as the Martin Schallenberger Artist in Residence. Consisting of fabricated sculptural installtions and live models, O'Connor's dramatically staged "living pictures" are captured as photographs and exhibited in the nearby Courtyard Gallery. The artist will be the first to use Cheekwod's newly renovated art studio and lounge. To visit and observe her work, open studio hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays  from 10 am – 2pm until April 4th.
